fedor is a bad man,most of those russians are tough as nails.i guess its in thier genetics,oleg taktarov who was not nearly as good as fedor was tough as hell also,oleg like fedor,had no quit in him and toughness that cant be taught in the gym training mma,they are born with it imo

Totally agree with you..
Saw one of his training videos and he trains with no hi tech equipment and no Tv.
in the middle of nowhere... :o

Have to agree with you regarding Taktarov.

One mean motherfcuker.

I've seen his World Vale Tudo Championships II fight against Marco Ruas, and it shows the moral of Taktarov.

Ruas and Taktarov fights with no gloves, and there is one round only - 30 minutes long.

Taktarov lasts the whole fight despite eating tons of nasty low Muay Thai kicks from Ruas.

I recommend anyone to see it. A classic.

Speaking of Taktarov the wife and I the other day were watching the new Pacino/Deniro film Righteous Kill and low and behold who do we see?

Oleg was one of the crazy Russian bad guys that would not die. Funny thing is my wife said something before I did. She goes, "Isn't that the Oleg fighter guy from back in the old days?"

I have always liked Oleg. I will always remember his post fight interview when Renzo Up kicked him. He said, "I will have to make a note to self to not ever let that happen again. Now I am going to make the long trip home and watch the fight and figure out why my jaw was made of glass tonight. Then I will laugh"

I always thought that was funny and he is always pure class in my book.
