Not at all, AXA - we are not going "against" genetic destiny with bodybuilding - it's more a case of pushing / expanding our boundaries. Going against our nature would be something like trying to induce pregnancy in a man using some kind of procedure, to give an example.

The human body responds to exercise positively and as with anything else, as long as it's not taken to the extreme, it's not a bad thing at all. Push it too much and like any system it will break down - everything has it's limits.

An opposable thumb gives humans much better motor skills for gripping things and operating tools and such.

I believe apes have somewhat of an opposable thumb, but not to the extent of humans. Their thumbs are more like a 5th finger or toe, as most all primates use their hands as well as feet to move at top speed.
