Todd McFarland is the greatest (Amazing Spiderman, Spiderman, Hulk, Spawn etc)  I like McFarland because his characters look real.  He revolutionized Spiderman.
Then Jim Lee, (Uncanny X-men, X-men, Wildcats etc.)
Dale Keowen is awesome as is Rob Leifield

Erik Larsen is ok also.

Keown may be my favorite of the group... His run on the Incredible Hulk is legendary and was perhaps the greatest run of all comics of all times... Simply epic.

Each of those guys really did something special and ushered in an era of Comics that we may never see again in our lives.

McFarland doesn't give a crap about comics anymore... his Toy line is making far too much bank... He's just around now.

I wish Rob had gotten his head together... Same with Campbell... You start to resent them when they don't produce regularly and you're waiting for the next issue.

That's why Lee, Keown, or Larsen gets my nod for the best... They produced every single month and never missed a beat... They were / are money.

Keown was/is awesome. Just immense ability. Others I enjoy are:

Mignola
Frank Miller (obv)
John Romita Jr
Larsen
Portacio

How shitty is it to never be able to be a black man when that's what he was... could only look human as a white guy. Irony at its finest.
