As libido boosters acetyl-l-carnitine and propionyl-l-carnitine are pretty good. It can have other neural benefits as well.

As a fat burner, fuggetaboutit.

it´s an "no must" supplement, but the 2 above posted versions of L-carnitine have the ability to increase the amount of androgen-receptors in muscles naturally....

Good to know. Any side effects to taking 5 grams of Pyruvate or L-carnatine, say daily?

Thats a good question.Pyruvate is naturally occuring in alot of foods we eat, we just dont enough of it in our daily diet.If you took much Pyruvate all that would happen is you would get a case of the runs.
Niether one of these supplements have any known side effects, because they are pretty much from Natural sources.
The only thing I will warn you about is if you buy Pyruvate make sure is Calcium Pyruvate, and not Sodium Pyruvate, or Magnesium Pyruvate.Pyruvic Acid is usually  to be bonded to a salt , so companies bond it to Calcium ,Sodium ,Magnesium. The only one that is proven to do anything is Calcium. The others are useless .If you read Dr Sanko's Pyruvate, it had alot of promising effects. If you eat alot of Carbohydrates, and you want endurance Pyruvate will give you alot of endurance and stamina .

Somebody sent me a PM asking me about D-Ribose, and does it work
D-Ribose is just fermented sugar, thats about it.There is nothing to it.
D-Ribose might give you a little energy because it is made from sugar. But last I checked it was pretty expensive for just being made from sugar. There is no solid research backing D-Ribose, and it effects on energy.
It has the same benegits as sugar, because it is sugar.....God Bless

All supps are bullshit of course.
Protein powder is convenient, but that's not a supplement.

and i would like to see a study that says that even protein powder is effective.  all the processing and baking and cooking of that shit basically robs it of any nutritional value.

Disagree.

Creatine, ß-Alanin and single amino acids are good supplements.

The problem with L-Carnatine is it gets a bad wrap just like Pyruvate does, because these companies and people call them fat burners.L-Carnatine is responsible for turning food into an energy source, put in simple terms.
Just like Pyruvate, converts Carbohydrates into useable energy.
Both supplements do work, when are used properly and the right amounts. The problem is nobody takes enough of either one of nutrients to give they a fair chance.
For example when the research on Pyruvate was done, they were using 5 grams a day. Most people take one 500 mg capsule and expect it to work.If you take 5 grams of Pyruvate you will notice incredable amounts of enduance, and you get pretty good pumps off if it to.
So with L-Carnatine if you take enough of it, you will notice a little more endurance and more useable energy.
It wont wire you like caffiene but you will have more stamina and consistant energy

correct..............i was taking in between 4-6 grams of L-carnitine 30 min prior to my cardio and it definetely gave me noticeable extra energy............consid ering the fact i'd never had sufficient stamina for a decent cardio workout.............at the end of each cardio session i never felt as fatigued as i'd had before..........never tried it before lifting weights though.
