Gibbs Denies the Bow
« on: April 10, 2009, 06:50:34 AM »
If he wasn't bowing I guess he was blowing him.....yeah and Bush holding hands was fucked up to...but no President bows to anyone...unless he's appeasing puss like this guy. Barry needs to figure out who elected him and where he's from.

As bizarre and disturbing as it was to see Barack Obama bow to Saudi King Abdallah, it is certainly true, as White House spokesman Robert Gibbs claimed today, that there are more important issues facing the country.

But how odd it is that the White House -- first on background and now on the record -- is denying that Obama did what he plainly did?

QUESTION: And then one unrelated question. When the president met with King Abdullah, there was something that took place which I believe the White House explained as just the president being taller than the king. We took a look at the video, and it does appear that the president actually bowed to King Abdullah. Did he bow or didn't he?

GIBBS: No, I think he bent over with both to shake -- with both hands to shake his hand, so I don't...

QUESTION: (OFF-MIKE) one hand, that he -- he was just...

GIBBS: Well I -- I -- I -- this is...

QUESTION: Did he bow or didn't he?

GIBBS: No, but I think this meeting was like a week ago, right?

QUESTION: That's right, but this is something that a lot of people are still talking about today.

GIBBS: I can only imagine it is of great cause and concern for many people struggling with the economy.

With the media spending more time on Sarah Palin's daughter's ex-boyfriend, I suppose it is a good sign that someone in the White House press corps actually asked Gibbs why his boss genuflected to the Saudi ruler. But if this had been George W. Bush and Dana Perino would the White House get such a pass?

We can choose to think this is not significant, but there is no doubt that the president bowed.  I think too much is being made of this, but the white house is lying, which is worse.
Its Obvious that Obama has more respect and admiration for Islam than previous presidents.  I believe it innapropriate to bow to a saudi leader but there are much bigger issues to deal with.

Disgusting, disgraceful, embarassing, and a sign of what more is to come.

Imagine Vladamir Putin on a European trip apologizing for Russia invading its neighbors and murdering millions of people in the name of Communism. Imagine Putin saying Russia will never be at war with capitalists, is ashamed of his country’s past treatment of minorities, that they were wrong to send thousands of innocent people to Siberian Gulags for dissent and other trumped up charges, and that he’s sorry for decimating Chechnya and invading Georgia.

OK, how about this, imagine Hugo Chavez bowing to President Bush or hugging Dick Cheney. Silly, huh?

How about Iran’s president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad going to Europe and saying, “You know…all that extremist stuff we do, the hanging of gay people, the imprisoning and execution of dissenters, the elimination of women’s rights — that was my predecessors doing. I’m not like that.”

The reason this will never happen is because these men operate from a position of strength. They’re leaders who represent their people as they see fit and believe they are right. Even if a lot of what they do is reprehensible, they have to show the world they stand by their country.

Instead, what do we have? A president who complains about his predecessor and apologizes and knocks America’s history. This doesn’t sound like a world leader, more like a Hollywood celebrity trying to score brownie points abroad.

Most people don’t respect this kind of behavior. You should always be true to your home team, especially if you’re the coach.

Our enemies don’t respect this kind of weak behavior. John Kennedy tried something similar in the early 60s when he went to Berlin and talked to Khrushchev. In response, we got the Cuban Missile Crisis. The Soviets perceived him as weak when he tried to play all nice and fluffy like Obama.

To our foes that’s like having a “Kick Me” sign on your back.
