On October 6th, at the Lakewood Civic Auditorium in Cleveland, Ohio, former NPC national competitor Dave Liberman promoted the 2007 “Vyotech Nutritionals” NPC Natural Northern USA Drug Tested Bodybuilding & Figure Championships along with co-promoter Todd Pember.

This contest generated 124 (NOT including crossovers), of the very best natural, drug free competitors in the Midwest and beyond. This was one of the largest NPC regional events in Ohio history, attracting athletes from 13 states across the country. The evening Finals had 1,000 fans in the seats along with over 500 figure and bodybuilding enthusiasts in the house during the morning/afternoon Prejudging.

 Drug Testing:

A very strict and expensive urine drug test was administered to the top 3 and two random competitors in each class. This is the same drug test used in the Olympic Games. It can detect the use of anabolic steroids, diuretics and clenbuterol (an illegal fat-loss drug) for up to one year.

 Special Features:

Features making this contest special included all the competitors performing their routines during the evening Finals and everyone (from 1st to last place) receiving competitor awards, a contest T-shirt, a gym bag (courtesy of Bodybuilding.Com), Gamma-0 T-shirt (courtesy of Gamma-0), contest water bottle (courtesy of Dr. Debbie Freeman), and goodie bags filled with free products from Kemistry /Cytodyne, Gaspari Nutrition, Labrada Nutrition, Anabolic Xtreme, Beverly International magazine, BSN, ErgoPharm, Agel, Muscle Milk / Cytosport, Gamma-0, My Body Beats, La Look Inc., Spa, Vyotech Nutritionals, MET-Rx / Worldwide Sports Nutrition along with T-shirts from Cellucor, Prolab and Ultra Trained Personal Training by Mr. Ohio Dave Liberman.

The top 5 received impressive awards including 6` class winning trophies and overall champions receiving towering 8` trophies along with beautiful contest jackets (courtesy of chemicallyengineered.com). Souvenir programs listing every competitors name, respective class, city and state, along with full page ads for every sponsor, was given to all the athletes, judges, sponsors and everyone attending the evening Finals.

As with all of Liberman and Pember’s contests, $1,000.00 of the proceeds was donated to the American Cancer Society. Additionally, Host Sponsor, Geoff DelGrosso, owner of Titan’s 24 Hour Gym, Fitness & Tanning Center in Mentor, Ohio donated $500.00, and Dr. Debbie Freeman (Dr. Freeman, 54, lost 85 lbs to compete in the masters Figure, 50 & Over, division and credits the bodybuilding and figure lifestyle in beating her battle with diabetes).

She donated $600.00 to the American Cancer Society in honor of her Mother who passed away from cancer 10 years ago, making the total donation amount of $2,100.00 going to the American Cancer Society. Dave and Todd remain committed to this charity and will continue to support the American Cancer Society at all of their future NPC competitions.

Top NPC natural national competitor, Miguel Neil performed in great shape as the opening guest poser. Opening the contest was two time NPC Wheelchair National Overall Champion, Colt Wynn. Also appearing was last years 2006 NPC Natural Northern USA Overall Figure Champion, Melissa Johnson.

Yes I don't understand holding a natural contest and then Marking out to a PRO BB who certainly uses.  Doesn't that send the message that a natural is never good enough or impressive enough to guest pose or be relevant in bodybuilding.

Just the fact that it is called an IFBB Natural Contest basically say's
that all other contests are DRUG contests period.  I don't know how
this is even legal.

Did you know he actually turns in the urine samples to a lab to be drug tested? He even showed me the results, to prove he does drug test his athletes.Unlike Lou Zwick from Muscle Mania who throws out the urine samples.
Plus Dave Liberman donates money to the American Cancer Society, for the 2 shows he does per year.
So there American Cancer Society gets 2 checks per year from Daver Liberman.
Plus if Dave thinks a guy is dirty, he will make sure they do extra tests to make sure the guy is clean.
The only reason Dave has pro bodybuilders, guest pose at a Natural bodybuilding show is .
1) It helpsbring people to the show, which inturn helps promot natural bodybuilding as a whole.The more people in the audience, makes the athletes try harder and feel appreciated.
2) IT helps the industry.More and more local contests arent hiring pro bodybuilders to guest pose.Last years Mr Las Vegas, didnt have a pro bodybuilder guest pose.If pro bodybuilders dont guest pose, they have a hard time making ends meet.
Because less and less companies are sponsoring them, and if they do get sponsored, the company tries to pay them $2000 per month.These days being a pro bodybuilder cost more then they make.Just look at the Arnold Clasicc, if you do place in the gtop 5, you didnt make any money.It actually cost you more money in drugs, food, and airfare, then you made on the show.
So if it wasnt for guys like Dave Liberman hiring them to guest pose at his show, most of them would be flat broke.

I honestly can't call it a natural show if they are only doing a drug test and not a polygraph like the NGA and INBF/WNBF does and for more than just one years...


However, at least this guy is putting on a show.  I'll give credit to anyone that does that because you stand to lose a lot of money if you fail

Not picking on him, it just that when you have natural sjow, and then have a IFBB pro (a known drug user) guest pose. It sends the wrong message. It's like having a  D.A.R.E. drug conference and having Snoop Dog as a guest speaker.

I'm sure the guy (promoter) is great, and I just happened to find this as i was looking for something else

I am sure he gets the guest poser FREE from the supplement company. That supplement company MAKES the bodybuilder do as part of his contract.

He gets non-natural bodybuilders to guest pose at his show because he gets them for free.
