Paleolithic diet
« on: April 14, 2009, 06:10:56 AM »
I bet one could get in amazing condition by following the paleolithic diet.  Probably would be difficult to stick to, but would work wonders no doubt.

I had a friend who used the paleolithic diet and it completely cleared up his acne. That shit was horrible too. This kid is smarter than anyone I've ever met and ate very well before, but once he got on that diet his acne disappeared. Accutane and all that shit helped too but really dried him out and the sides were unbearable.

The rules of the Paleolithic Diet are simple: Only eat what was available to the early hunter-gatherers. Foods which are edible raw. All other foods should be avoided. In effect this is the factory specified diet.

Do Eat: Meats and Fish, Fruits, Vegetables, Nuts, and Berries.

Do Not Eat: Grains, Beans, Potatoes, Dairy, Sugar.

On this diet you don't count calories or carbs. You eat when you're hungry and stop when you're full. I snack all the time on nuts and fruit. Any food of any kind from the "Do Eat" list is OK. All foods from the "Do Not Eat" category are strictly forbidden--no exceptions! It takes some will power at first, but after a week or two the cravings for the old foods go away.

The only merit it has is its avoidance of pollutants and refined processing. It takes much more to get "amazing condition", if I'm a reading ya clear bubba.

Hard to stick with? c'mon that diet is so easy even a caveman could handle it!
But you would need to live in a cave, lift boulders and avoid having GEICO insure your car

are you implying that a diet without grains is unhealthy?

It's my understanding cavemen did not eat hearth baked bread nor is the human digestive track designed to optimize the intake of grains. I could be wrong though.

That would make one very constipated and may account for the fact that a lot of cavemen died from their asses exploding :o

okay. i thought you original post was a form of argument, trying to say that the shortened lifespans of the age were due to the contents of their diet.

no. it's my understanding that their lives were shortened due mostly to infections and sanitation type issues.

Grain has barely been around for 10,000 years; humans for 100,000 years; you do the math.

How you could take it that way? He was talking about people who lived 10000+ years ago...their life spans would've been shortened by a hard life.

the title of the thread is paleolithic DIET. key word = diet. his response , the first response, didnt say it was straying from the topic at hand, and his response only posed a question = didnt those people live short lives? to me, that is saying "whats good about the diet, if the people who ate the diet died young?"....     so i guess, thats how "i could take it that way"... :)
