The Chicago-based re-election campaign is offering a chance to go toe-to-toe with President Obama's NCAA tournament picks for bragging rights — and is raising a little money in the process. The campaign is hosting a college basketball bracket challenge on the campaign website and asking supporters to pitch in to help "the President in another big match-up that's happening this year: the one in November."
"It's college basketball time again — and as friends and co-workers gather around the water cooler to talk top seeds and Cinderellas, here's your chance to fill out a bracket with the President himself," the campaign writes.
Anyone who outsources President Obama's own bracket will have their name published on the campaign website. Obama's bracket has not yet been released.
The bracket challenge is a good way to raise money and collect emails from potential supporters — using the allure of sports and friendly competition to engage with supporters.
