overrated yes.. one dimensional yes.. you would figure after he starting losing that he would have figured out that his opponents have figured out his style.. but, no.. chuck continued to keep hands down and fight the old fight.. he gets dropped by jardine.. he gets dropped by the "axe murderer" (but, silva did not jump on him for some reason) knocked out by rashad, rampage ect.. all because he keeps his hands down to his waist.. now, for the final fight of his career he should have figured out this common denominator.. but put to sleep.. sorry.. but, all one dimensional brawlers eventually go down.. he lasted only as long as he did based on the fighters he was fighting ...

chuck liddell was the shit when he was on top. it's been time for him to quit for a while. he should have after he got ko'd by rashad evans. he hasn't looked like himself as a fighter for quite some time. he lost to KEITH JARDINE, he hasn't won a fight in ages (wanderlei silva fight doesn't count).

PRIDE going down ruined Chucks career.

PRIDE going down ruined Chucks career.

 ;D

he only fought wrestlers before, he had good takedown defense and they were playing his game
he lost pretty much all when it came to strikers, take Jardine for example  :-\
I don't know how Wanderlei didn't beat him, he shoud have rushed him like he did with jardine, but i think he just
wanted to give people a "good show" lol

Actually, getting knocked out by everyone he went up against "ruined his career."

Chuck is old and likes to party...how long could he have kept it up?  He's still one of the all-time MMA greats.

Yep. The PRIDE fighters moved over along with some new up and comers and all of a sudden Chuck is mediocre.

Like I said, PRIDE ruined Chuck.

Chuck is also old, likes to party like a rock star and has been in many tough fights.

Chuck has lost 4 out of his last 5 fights.  Pride dissolving has nothing to do with anything regarding Chuck's fall.

So Rampage moving to the UFC because PRIDE collapsed didn't ruin Chuck? That was the beginning and Shogun was the end of his demise.

And like you said, he is up there and he always seems high on something.

Hands low to protect against the shot, mastery of the "cagewalk," using a lead hand hook while moving sideways or backwards are things good against a grappler, terrible against a striker.  He was on queer street against Mezger and Overeem in Pride, two decent MMA strikers.  He was tested by Ze Mario, and couldn't put away a much smaller fighter.  Add in age, a hectic lifestyle, and you got a fighter on the way out.
