? How often each week do they carry out the stretching exercises, give some examples of what ones they do, and the principles of training etc.
thanks guys.

I would really like to be as flexible as a gymnast, it must be very hard for them to get an injury.

lol. Pavel Tsatsouline has written a book "Relax into Stretching". I've yet to read it, but his material is usually great. I'm sure it would be a good/helpful read

It takes a LONG time (years) to do what you see in that photo.

You need to spend time stretching everyday, try to hold each stretch for 30 - 60 seconds at your max stretch point. Takes time and hurts a lot and the bigger you are the longer it takes.

While he never mentioned specifically how, RVD admits on his site that he was quite young when he began the stretching techniques to attain that level of flexibility, and even with youth on his side, it still took a long time.
He mentions it would take a lot longer if he attempted it today being older and more muscular.

Rob has got some strength, too. He can snatch an 85(?) lb. db from the floor from that split position. I’ve seen pics of him – and now others – doing it. For a while, he held the record. But until he “popularized it,” I don’t think there was anyone else doing it.

Yes, it's easy.

It is as long as you don't get seriously injured. It's all about confidence.

Try tying a rope around each of your ankles and secure the other end to a horse. Then fire a shotgun into the air, making sure the horses take off in opposite directions - you'll save yourself years of time and effort.
