The question Micheal didn't have to answer at the end is here.
Q. How is cutting Israel loose, which is the only democracy in the Middle East, help that cause then, Michael?
A. I guess that I would have asked Mr. Rosenberg how could it possibly hurt America to have one less democracy in the world?
As the Founders noted, America is in the business of developing and doing its best to perfect our own republican system. Our ability to do that is not in the least dependent on there being a single other democracy on earth. Indeed, our political elite's determination to install and protect other peoples' democracies always involves us in other peoples' wars and thereby retards our ability to maintain -- let alone perfect -- our liberties and equality of conditions at home. I do not know how many times it has to be said, but the Founders intended us to be the model of republicanism for the world; whether or not any other country followed our model was up to them, and if followed, it was up to that country -- without America's help -- to make the effort work.I saw President Obama yesterday and noted that he said the Founders could not have known about the world we confront today, implying they and their ideas have no baring on how we conduct the business of the nation they created. President Obama clearly knows nothing about the Founders. America is in the disastrous fix it is today because our elite are rank interventionists, and the problems flowing from their interventionism were precisely predicted by the Founders that President Obama finds so irrelevant.
As troubling in yesterday's speech, President Obama appeared as something of a Black Woodrow Wilson, the man who also thought the Founders' irrelevant and started America on the road of relentless intervention overseas. Like the earlier White Wilson, President Obama in his speech agonized over how superior he and his morality are to all other Americans. We should all recall that Woodrow Wilson and his superior sense of morality brought America as close to fascism as it has ever been.
Overall, when a person becomes part of the U.S. governing elite it does not seem to matter whether one is Black (Obama or Powell) or White (Wilson or LBJ); male (Cheney) or female (H. Clinton); Democrat (Biden) or Republican (McCain), he or she automatically becomes an interventionist who is blessed with a morality that is superior to that of all other Americans, one which cares more about bayoneting foreigners into democracy than in shielding and developing republicanism at home.
