:)

I wanted to get peanut a dog this christmas, but my brother got her the walking dog one. I'm gonna see how she is walking the thing in 20 degree weather and stuff, just to see how she helps take care of one. Definately going to rescue one though. Still a toss up between boston terrier, pug or french bull dog terrior

I hope where ever you decide to get one from allows you and she go in for some visits .. spending a little time with them usually lets you see if they can bond and acclimate to a little girl with no problems ... it'd be awful if you ended up with one who would rather not be bothered by too much attention / activity or noise  :-[

the research that I have done thus far and a few sites I have been on, one place lets you take one for the weekend, which I agree is a great start. They do interview potential owners pretty throughly. Now if I can only get rid of this damn noisey ass parakeet. Flipping bird is loud and messy, but sure is cute ;D.

It's probably a good thing you didn't get a litter mate.  They say the dogs tend to develop psych issues and don't bond with their human as well.  :-\

I spent about 3 hours with Scout before bringing him home and he went with me when looking for Shelby.  Scout and I interviewed several potential siblings over the course of a few months before deciding she was the one.  I can't imagine a shelter not allowing that  ??? The ones around here encourage it.  Can't take 'em home for a trial though.

great planning, I was going to ask too b/c they look like they may get into it from time to time...

we had two shelties growing up a boy and girl from different litters and families, the girl was a bit older and they never really got along.

I think taking along your current dog when picking out another is a great idea.

Scout is so adorable in that pic.

Instead of that stuffed animal shouldn't Shelby have a nice Bandolino? :)

I'm sure her tastes have matured, but all she gets are Scout's disemboweled handmedowns like the bunny with no ears or guts.  ;D

Great pics of both of them.

I think Poinsettias are poisonous to dogs (if they eat them) just FYI in case!

Scout looks very concerned  ;D  in that second pic!

Yes, I think they are poisonous, but they have no interest thankfully.  They prefer leather and stuffing  ;D
