Why do people think 225 lbs for 112 reps is impossible in 10 minutes?

Because it would be hard even with 135, although I've never tried it.  I did about 225X22 straight 18 months ago and could probably do 30 now, but I think 112 would be absolutely out of the question, or even 56 for that matter.  It's not like I'm Chris Mason or something.

How about a set of 11 reps every minute for 10 minutes?

Just got off the phone with Klaus and he told me how to do this feat of strength.  :P He has done it many times as a warm up.

There is a Finnish guy who has officially squatted his bodyweight about 80 times or something with max 5 second breaks between reps. That's not the same thing of course because the guy is light, but I don't know if he could squat 2 times his bodyweight, showing how important endurance is.

Do you know who "True Adonis" is? He makes claims that make your "Klaus" friend look like a puss.

Yeah, I know who he is. And no, I'm not familiar with his other claims.

225 = not very heavy. 12 sets of 10 with 30 seconds gap, seems more and more possible the more I think about it. Haha

He said he didn't put the barbell down at any point.  ;)

Mental toughness + endurance then it = very possible.

There was an unofficial video comp awhile back.  You can use straps and pause for as long as you want but no putting down the bar.  I think Mister Magoo did the best so far somewhere in the 40s and he got major props, much deserved imo.  Post up if you can beat it.

That is a very nice idea for a little competition. If those were the circumstances then yes, he has no right to claim something like that. That's BS.  :(

At a certain point (different for each of us), it becomes mental.

I can't do 225x112, but 135x112 might be possible if I'm willing to ignore the pain.

i got 30 on my first try when i didn't put the bar down, 50 when i stopped on the floor, but definitely could have hit 40 without it. believe me, you have no idea how hard it gets once you're about 20 reps deep. it's not like a gradual thing, you're just chugging along no problem and suddenly WHAM, you can't breathe and everything burns. that's why my videos show me stopping even though the weight doesn't look like it's a struggle, the overall taxing of the body is outrageous. :P

Tre, it's mental to a point. i was actually getting lightheaded and this was when my heart was having some issues. the last thing i needed was to overdo it. but my recent workouts had me doing things like 225x21/15/9 in a circuit beltless for speed, so i'm actually curious as to what i might be capable of now.

hm. i might find out come monday...

Been awhile since I saw the vid.  A Herculean effort.  I'd gas out long before you did.
