I just was reading some of the 7000+ comments and I noticed that there were a lot people saying what Method is saying; that this is political agenda, getting offended, trying to disprove global warming, calling it a power grab, etc. Then there were people saying that humans are going to destroy themselves, we are a cancer on the Earth. And it's true... if you are willing to believe that. Belief systems are like a support group of ideas. If I believe I'm a cancer destined to destroy, I am living in a weak illusion that my own mind got away with creating.
I think it's more likely that the Earth is doing fine and that it is far more intelligent then we can be in a mere million lifetimes. In all nature's glory there will be healing through the reorganization to balance between the elements. It is a maturing celestial body and proved it's intelligence, it only took so many billion years for the humans to conceive of evolution, but right now our Earth is keeping us afloat, like a parent she's giving us a chance to continue to progress towards wherever we are going, while continuing to bear the fruits of life for us. In the human mind, however, there is chaos, turmoil, fear of the unknown, suppression, oppression, uncertainty, suspicion, doubt, all the nasty symptoms of a sick society. These symptoms are not new, they are something we humans have felt since the first awful time we encountered them. The difference between the dark ages and 2009 is that we are, as a species, responding to a world in the midst of an information revolution, and the ways in which we relate to the universe is changing. It could be that we are remembering an ancient belief system and in consequence are sort of waking from a dream, a great illusion that we submitted to.
I say let's focus on evolving beyond self-limiting belief systems, and start dreaming up self-sufficiency in ways we never even realize when we pay bills to energy corporations that became empires unto us. Fuck corporate dependency. The future I want has self-sufficient households.
Oh yeah, and Fuck people who are in perpetual shock and awe over how extreme the government is as an adversary to the human spirit. Progression isn't met without resistance... at least for us.
