That's an awesome shot of that phenomena. Breaking sound barriers is easy stuff for F-22s though. Still looks awesome.

interesting. i remember the original old planes used to start shaking violently and break apart as they approached the speed of sound. then once one guy finally got through it the plane flew very easily w/ no turbulence.

Well there's a lot of good that came out of Weapons research - and I mean a LOT of good - take getbig for excample - this page wouldn't have been here if some clever people from a Military research center wouldn#'t have come up with the Internet.
