However, one's ability to assert & maintain those rights in the presence of law enforcement, is all too frequently based on race. A cop claiming to have been told 2 black men broke into a home when he clearly was not, then compounding things by making a stupid decision to arrest an innocent lawful occupant, will only serve to re-inforce that belief. Is Crowley a liar? Is he an overimaginative racist? Is he a man with a bruised ego? It was a stupid arrest.

Every time there is a confrontation between police and a citizen, everyone in the vicinity should whip out their camera phones and begin recording.

Police will be on best behavior and play it by the book once they know multiple eyes are on them.  The minute they grab one phone, there is ten other phones recording the unconstitutional act.

Anyone here remember when video cameras first came out, ...and they captured the Rodney King incident on tape?
...and you all thought going a few miles over the speed limit was a ticket and a $20 fine... not if you're Black.
In that case, ...it's 6 cops wailng on your ass with batons for an hour til you lose all recollection of the events
