Need advice with lipid test results
« on: August 29, 2009, 08:22:57 PM »
My doc was looking over my lipid panel results. I had one done in May, and then another just last week.
The results from May are on the left ----- and last week (Aug) on the right.

Triglycerides:
161----156

Cholesterol:
148----201

HDL:
27----26

LDL:
89----144

VLDL:
32----31

Now, based on the increase of my LDL, doc wants to put me on 40mg of zocor. 144 is borderline high by many standards, so I'm thinking the zocor may not be necessary; especially as I hear so much about the risks of using statins. However, I was thinking of running a small cycle and just using the zocor during the cycle to keep my levels from going crazy. Just wanted to get some thoughts on all this from some more knowledgeable bros.

Hell no. Why??

if you did, showing signs of drug related "wear and tear" should make you reconsider....

I would...

I'm not trying to be nasty to "massquest" really .. but at what cost... when your panel starts showing signs, it's time to reconsider.. an advice that Matarazzo himself gave us himself before I moved down here...

i hear you bro, i just thought it was funny as hell the way you answered him.

i agree though, this shit aint worth your health. if i didnt become a police officer and quit AAS a few years ago, i would hate to know the health problems i would be facing now. i used really heavy amounts of everything, and i didnt compete in anything. i just got hooked.

I don't want kids. Is my lipid panel really that fucked up? Perhaps someone could give some more insightful analysis of what's going on??

Relax dude my LDL was in the 300's 4 years ago and I was all natural, just eating shit and more stressed than the golden gate when 20 semi are crossing all at once... numbers vary but do keep things in check. If there's a "long term" trend in your panel, rethink; it means your enzyme profile is change for good (which is not good).

then again this is the internet, it's as reliable as the 17yo kid asking for a booze "hook up" in front of the seven-elven.

if the doc puts you on medicine to control your levels, i wouldnt do anything counter productive to that. i wouldnt do another cycle untile my shit was in check.

i monitor my lipid pretty closely as well, i keep my HDL above 40 by eating healthy oils, cardio and oats.

btw normal hdl is considered 40/60 i belive.
