Ultimate Fighter Debut
« on: September 16, 2009, 08:28:42 PM »
Pretty good start-- It is more interesting to see some heavyweights mix it up, although I have to say I am not very impressed with anyones athleticism on the entire show. Looks like a bunch of strong, tough dudes who are going to mix it up though. I dont think we are going to see many boring fights.

The preliminary bout with the shorter pudgier guy on Rashads team beating the living daylights out of the jacked taller guy on Rampages team was hard to watch though. Not only was it a total mismatch, but geezus christ-- to be on TUF I would think a guy would know how to sprawl to avoid being taken down or how to attempt a submission, or how to posture up to avoid being pinned. It was as if the guy on Rampages team had never grappled before. A whitebelt at any BJJ school in the country would have done a better job. Why Rampage didn't throw in the towel is beyond me. With very few exceptions, I cant remember a bloodier MMA fight in recent memory. It was an absolute slaughter.

That was the deepest cut I think I've ever seen on someones forehead.

Should get more interesting as time goes on in the show.

Rashad has a solid coaching staff, Mike van Arsdale for wrestling, Wittman for striking, and Yoda for master game planning, you can't go wrong.  Rampage made horrible choices for his asst. coaches (tiki and zach light. WTF?), his matchmaking and his logic for picking his team are pretty weak as well.  Page would probably be responsable for alot of laughs, but I don't expect many wins from his team this season.

I think Rampage is a good guy, funny, but he has no business coaching!  I'm sure he was frustrated, but he needed to be doing more beside saying you gotta get up!  Definitely a bloody fight, but I still think Edwin Dewees cut bled more.

I agree...but to be honest after seeing how page coached in his first show vs griffin...I wasn't expecting much out of him other than "whip his a$$" LMAO

We call Tiki 'Tarzan" because he's always swinging from Rampages nuts. On the upside, Sick Dog is a great coach.

LOLOL

Does anyone remember that animated SNL spoof of Mr. T--

EAT YOUR MILK DRINK YOUR DRUGS DONT SMOKE CRACK!

Im picturing Rampage yelling out the same shit with "WHIP HIS ASS" thrown in for good measure.

The gash on that guys forehead looked like two pieces of meat sliding around on his skull. It was raining blood during fight. I think that's the first time even  I was getting disgusted at the site of that much blood.
