Titus got tired of being caged and fed to, not being able to be free. I too would want to pass away. I doubt Titus would have the balls to try it upon himself though, as gorillas aren't naturally suicidal.
On a side note, it's obvious that the late Dian Fossey wanted forceful, big gorilla bone all day and night in the jungle bush.
