The nation's jobless numbers may worsen, President Barack Obama says, and won't begin to turn around until next year.

“Probably the jobs picture is not going to improve considerably – and it could even get a little bit worse – over the next couple of months,” Obama said in an interview aired Sunday on CNN “State of the Union.” “And we're probably not going to start seeing enough job creation to deal with a rising population until some time next year.”

The country lost such a large number of jobs that regaining them will “require really high growth rates,” Obama said.

One part of the push to generate that growth is by creating more exports, a topic Obama said will be discussed at next week’s G20 meeting in Pittsburgh.

“We can't go back to the era where the Chinese or the Germans or other countries just are selling everything to us, we're taking out a bunch of credit card debt or home equity loans, but we're not selling anything to them,” Obama said.

Im just relishing in reality finally hitting this idiot and his mindless drones.  I told you even before the stimulus was passed it would not do a damn thing and it wont.  it wasnt designed as a jobs bill and in fact is destroying jobs if anything. 

Just like C4C was a failure like I told you it would be, so will the stimulis bill.

U want change......re energize farming to the point that nobody can do anything without food from the US. Tie foreign policy to food..drill for oil here and bury everybody. Build nuke plants....narrow our focus..if its not about denying food to enemies or contoling natural resources...discard it. Obama urges investment in high-tech education
The president says training Americans for jobs of the future will help create a more stable foundation for the economy.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- President Obama on Monday pushed his plans to make the nation's economy more stable in the future by investing in education for high-tech industries.

The president unveiled a new "innovation strategy" that builds on $100 billion of economic stimulus funds to support entrepreneurship, education, infrastructure and other investments.

The plan aims to make the U.S. economy more competitive and help prevent volatile "boom and bust" cycles in the future, Obama said.

"As we emerge from this economic crisis, our great challenge will be to ensure that we do not simply drift into the future, accepting less for our children and less for America," Obama told students at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, N.Y. "Instead, we must choose to do what past generations have done: shape a brighter future through hard work and innovation."

Obama reiterated his call for increased investment in green energy technology, electronic health records and manufacturing advanced vehicles.

The president also pointed to proposed tax cuts and trade policies his administration has perused as ways to make U.S. companies more competitive and prosperous.

"Our strategy begins where innovation so often does: in the classroom and in the laboratory -- and in the networks that connect them to the broader economy," the president said in prepared remarks. "These are the building blocks of innovation: education, infrastructure, and research."

While I agree that Cap & Trade seems extremely flawed, I do not believe the stimulus has "failed" as you guys put it.

Hell, even the fact that Obama is mentioning the fact that we need to actually MAKE something in this country to export is a big deal.

No one else in Washington has really talked about it and it's nice to see him talking about what it will really take to stay economically stable.

Haters just hating... No real substance behind it.

I don't think it's impossible... I just don't believe Cap & Trade in it's current form and the timeframe that Obama wants to put it in is feasible.

I think he's overstretching a lot, but I do agree with his general premise... Cap & Trade is just the wrong way to go about it.

The bottom line is that we do need to continue to work on our overall emissions and we should reward those companies who stay as green as possible, however, Cap & Trade, right now... with the current economic climate is very problematic and flawed.

Read the Taibii article on this.  This is nothing more than huge giveaway to Goldman Sachs who owns 50% of the trading exchange who will handle the trading of "carbon credits".  Its theft and raping by any definition of the word. 

We need jobs and economic progress, not green fantasies and unproven theories and whims.
