I was tossing a schmoe moving a refrigerator yesterday when my untrained weakling little brother lost his grip on the appliance, which dropped it upon my foot.

Despite my unfashionable weight belt and fingerless Behringer gloves, my lack of steel-toed lumberjack boots was indeed my downfall.  Feels like a broken toe.

Now, instead of going to the doctor to get a popsicle stick and some tape and missing 4 hours of message board posting time, I'm just bringing my medical question here, so that the phD braintrust here can give me some solicited and entertaining medical advice.

Specifically, do I just tape the broken big toe to the ugly toe to next to it?  Do I use a popsicle stick too?   is leg training affected?  Thanks friends.

I dropped the sharp end of a bench right down on my big toe, working out barefoot at home.  Busted my toe nail almost completely off, and toe felt like it was broken.  They checked it out, I got two stitches and went home with a soar ass toe.  :-X

yeah im a doctor, just get a popsicle stick cut it smaller and tape your toe to it. You may also tape it to the toe next to it if needed.
If you don't have a popsicle stick you can actually use paper, just fold a piece enough to wear it is stiff. If you immobilize the toe it will substantially decrease the pain. if it really hurt you should elevate it and put some ice on it for 20mins.
Avoid walking and use painkillers...

Rob, if any part of this is true. You need to isolate the big toe and find a firm slim peice of metal to place under your toe and tape with medical tape. After that you need some ace bandages to wrap your foot with, to insure your toe stays in place at a slightly elivated position to reduce swelling while standing. You must rewrap everyday and no unneeded pressure on the toe.

absolute BS mindstein.

you never splint a toe.

there's nothing you can do for it. elevate, take pain relief, ice it (probably not much point now).

if it landed on your toe then its probably crushed...even more reason to not splint.

yet another dumbass....have you guys tried to walk around and live your life with a stick tied to your toe?...i guarantee that 240 wont move it if it hurts....i repeat..do not splint it. its a. pointless, b. impractical, and c. can force your toe to heal incorrectly.

Duct tape your toe to a light dumbell and exercise the toe by doing "light dumbell toe raises".

Immediately following, take two asprins and call the doc in the AM.

If that doesn`t help, pull up your skirt and man up!!
