Chinese-made strollers recalled over finger amputation alert

(CNN) -- Close to one million strollers have been recalled by their manufacturer following reports at least 12 babies or toddlers had their fingers amputated after they were caught in the hinges.

British company Maclaren said the recall concerns Chinese-made models on sale in the U.S. that open with an "umbrella" mechanism.

It's a wonder western companies still sell, and consumers still buy products made in China.

The Chinese receive the blueprints from american companies for these products and only follow the instruction on maufacturing. So the anger you have should be directed toward the american companies who design these  dangerous products.

America produces more milk than any other nation so why would america buy dairy products from China?

Don't think for one moment america or any nation for that matter just imports ANYTHING from other nations. EVERYTHING is inspected, analyzed and tested. If the sheet rock was imported to america, it was becasue it was made to the specification of the company that imported it. BTW..why would america import sheetrock? Sheetrock is heavy and cheap and isn't worth importing from another nation when it can not produce profits. Shipping, transporting, taxes tarrifs would make importing such a product a waste of time and money...not to mention the job loss in america.

This is common place. The melamine was added to the Chinese made food to artificially inflate protein levels. It's much, much cheaper to add melamine to a product to meet a certain protein level than adding actual protein. Like the Chinese care if anyone dies from it.
