Support for Israel in 1948 was a lot more justified in terms of US interests than it is now, and remember until 1965 it was mostly the french not the americans that provided Israel with weapons and direct support. However I dont think stopping support for Israel now would solve the problem with terrorism. It may detract from the message and give young muslims less things to be angry about, but the rot is deep set and is now so complex and long running that in my mind its extrememly doubtful that casting Israel loose will be some all encompassing panacea. Besides, speak to most right wing israelis and they want to be cut loose anyway so they can deal with the arabs how they see fit without having to listen to the US all the time. Its a one way relationship most of the time to be honest!!

I totally agree with you, many Arab's would still associate the US with Israel although it would have a positive affect.  I wish we would, stop giving them free weapons or selling them weapons, stop with the money and see how well they do.  They have made so many enemies assuming the US will protect them, it would be very nice to see what would happen.

I agree that the U.S. probably has given too much financial and military support to Israel over the years.  I understand that point & why many Arabs would be mad...then again the U.S. has given a lot of financial support to other Muslim countries.  However, Muslims in that region have never been peaceful.  The root of the problem is the misguided religion, backwards culture and closemindedness.

In general, I would suggest the U.S. cut aid to everyone internationally and draw back some, similar to other European countries.  Help in crises but not intervene in every struggle.  The U.S. is the biggest donor of financial assistance to other nations.  We are not the loan economic superpower anymore and our government is wasting the tax dollars of the citizens.  

Yes US has become the world police telling everybody where they are wrong in our eyes pissing everyone off getting in their business.  Meanwhile our country is going down the drain financially we are sending millions of dollars to other countries, just doesn't make sense.

How bout we make a list, of how many people each race has killed in the United States.

African Americans
Mexians
Puero Ricans
Asians
Arabs

Now where do you think Arabs would be on that list, they killed what a few thousand in the tower attacks, that is about it, so get over it, whites and blacks murder thousands of people everyday in this country and there is nothing done about it and it is just accepted.  Let's focus on the real problem killing of our own citizens by our own citizens, not Arabs, that is the big picture.

Better than "lists" and "categories" would be to upgrade the staff at the security checks, by paying a decent salary that would attract more intelligent and experienced staff.

With the number of people going through airports every day you cannot check everybody the same way. They need to have experts at the security checks that can pick up on people's behavior, insecure looks, nervousness etc - rather than just telling every passenger to take their belt and shoes off while not even looking into their faces.

Multinationals and those few behind it are in power, not countries. Countries are in debt, and debt is getting larger and larger.
