So the guy's ego is so big that he wants his initials in the logo, even though it means and conveys absolutely nothing to the consumer?

What a shocker!

Thats his decision! I'm just doing my best to please him (no homo!!) :)

Here r some better pics!

Another problem I see is Elite Fitness is confusing, every one in the fitness industy is "EliteSomeFuckingThing" .

I think Elite Fitness, I think:

1) EliteFTS/Elite Fitness Systems- Dave Tate's site.

2) EliteFitness- The Forum.

3) Crossfit's "Forging Elite Fitness ::)" slogan.

Etc...

If you must use it, I like # 3.

trying your best to please a client is one thing, to facilitate them making a fool of themselves is quite another.  this is a terrible idea for a design, and you are doing him no favors by going along with it.  in fact, it reflects on you as the designer extremely poorly, and comes across as novice work.

the focus point of the entire design is a meaningless abbreviation that tells the viewer nothing about what you are trying to get across, and even worse it does indeed look more like AF instead of the intended AA.  instead of being concise and explanatory as a logo should be, it only adds to the viewer's confusion.

the graphic work is not bad, however the concept is ill thought out.

logo design can be tricky if you start staring at it too much...you have to go with the one that instantly communicates the moment you look at it. which is number 3. If you have to contemplate it, version 2 and 1, no matter how clever you think it is, it fails as a graphic design. THe communication has to be instant.
