Hugo - I have posted endlessly on this topic.  The govt, on all levels have made promises it simply cant meet without confiscating every dime we all make. 

Your story is perfect example of that.  The idiot govt we have probably hired two or three "inspectors" at 80 - 90k a pop plus benes to oversea solar nonsense.  Now it has to cover these added costs, which it cant, so its does this bs.

on this level I understand and agree.  At the same time there is a need for basic common services that require taxes which I also understand.  Unfortunately, every business model in existence states: "make every last dollar you can, manipulate the system if you're able, if you're not able, keep trying to manipulate the system until you succeed.  If it's against the public good, tuff shit as long as it makes us money"

Geez Hugo when are you gonna learn. Americans solar industry is owned by the petrochemical industry.... You think they are going to let you get FREE ELECTRICITY? Their whole goal is to discourage anyone from switching to the system and forcing anyone who already switched to go back to their local power supplier. SO the panels are ridiculously priced, the instillation is ridiculously priced, the upkeep is ridiculously priced and now the permits (what do you need a permit for) are ridiculously priced.

LOL, when am I going to learn?  Yea I know.  I know well in these matters.  I've spent the last few years working in this area.  I was raised in the energy capital of America.  I know.  None of that means that I can't yell about it.  None of that means that I can't yell at californians for taking it up the ass.  They don't have to--we don't have to.  We have the power.  All they/we have to do is get the signatures and vote on an initiative and shove it up their asses and fuck it, expect for them to fight it on the state level and further; have new initiatives ready for the next election.  The people, if they had the fucking balls, have the power to bury the corporations.  If only they had the will we could bury them in initiatives faster than they could ever fight them.  That's a fact that's never been fully tested and I pray for the day it will be.

I am more inclined to do as 3 suggested and go FRENCH on them (Ala GUILLOTINE)... It worked against Henry the 8th and Marie Antoinette... I am sure if enough of your senate, congress and administration saw heads rolling (literally), they would quickly get a warm and fuzzy feeling all over them to do right by the masses.

ok, when I said it hasn't really been fully tested, I mean it.  Look, the corporations and special interests have and will spend millions, sometimes mutimillions on getting a prop voted down and if passed overruled at a higher level.  It cost them multiple millions, what did it cost Joe voter?  Nothing... A signature on a piece of paper... that's it....  Now imagine a coordinated effort. a blitz of props and a blitz of props in the wait counting on various challenges.  The right person could coordinate an utter hell hole of misery for the elite douches.  Cost for us? signatures... Cost for them, millions... hell billions... theoretically the people could fracking bury them in props, they couldn't keep up.  But it has to be planned and smart.  Without people, it won't happen.  Sheeple factor.
