Anabolic vs. Adrogenic
« on: February 02, 2010, 06:18:37 PM »
why are are adrogens more popular among powerlifters than pure anabolics? I know most drugs are both to a degree, but I read that adrogenic properties of drugs like testosterone are responsible for strength gains and aggression while anabolic is the build up of lean tissue I read is this correct?
thanks

they arent cut clear like that... androgenic effects refer to effects from DHT.. a metabolite of testosterone, (the alpha-2 reductase enzyme converts testosterone into dihydrotestosterone....D HT is the abbreviation of that..  with regard to its effects, it is mainly strength, but also size as well.  anabolic refers to the build up of tissue. this means mostly size, but of course with size does come a bit of strength.

thanks Tbombz ,
I have read interviews by powerlifters where use was discussed and they said these patricular quotes.
"I realized that as a powerlifter, the only thing one really needs training for strength is test and dbol."

"I wait until competitions to do the harder adrogens, I try to maintain 90percent strength in the offseason and usually just stick with deca or eq."

"look, if Im not concerned with doing a meet anytime soon,Ill take something light like equipoise. If I feel my strength start to dip, Ill add  some test"

I see what your saying though about anabolic effects increasing strength. But do androgens have any effect on the CNS for strength/power athletes?
Im talking about halotestin and tren.
