Yep.  Old man's car.  I know two guys that own Cadillacs--both are in their 60's.

My wife wants one.

Can you lease one under your business?
Nice write-off.

Exactly.  I saw this thread and had to say that my cousin's son just bought an XLR and that car is unreal.  I would take one in a heartbeat.  And they are big inside.  I remember when I had my suntan lotion company I went to my office in Huntington Beach to check up on things and saw thei red convertible Cadillac.  I am almost certain it was called an Allante but not sure.  The first thing I thought was who am I paying so much that they can get one of these.  It was really nice I thought.  I like the CTS and STS too
I believe they have or are discontinuing the XLR and XLR-V due to very bad sales. It was pitched as a cheaper alternative to the Merc SL, but it couldn't outgun it in the HP dept.

I believe they have or are discontinuing the XLR and XLR-V due to very bad sales. It was pitched as a cheaper alternative to the Merc SL, but it couldn't outgun it in the HP dept.

XLR was a disaster sales wise.  It also was more of a looker than a true performer.  If I recall it had a price tag that wasn't far off from a Mercedes SL either which simply doomed it to fail.  The Mercedes SL is the benchmark for the 2-door hardtop luxury convertible....the XLR didn't stand a chance.

First gen CTS-V had a ton of HP with it's Z06 sourced V8 but abrupt power delivery and wheel hop that was unacceptable in a luxury-performance sedan.  The new gen CTS-V supposedly has all of the wrinkles of the first gen ironed out.  I would love to test drive one but one it comes down to it I think that resale for an American luxury car does not hold up to foreign competition.

With that said Cadillac has come a LONG way from the disasterpiece POS lineup of the not-so-distant past.  Lincoln on the other hand........still an old-man's blue haired embarassment of badge-engineered garbage.

The R8 was billed as a usable sports cars, a alternative to the 911--but they are now in the same fold. Another car that was made to compete against the 911 is that glorious Aston Martin AMV8.
When you have Audi R8 V10 being tested with the GT-R and 911 Turbo, it means that it ain't a old man's car.
