Yellowstone Eruption Days Away?



The current earthquake swarm at Yellowstone can now be called the longest and most eventful in modern history. I include the following snapshot from today's reports:

While the debate is raging whether the intensity of these quakes is being under-reported, the more important issue of depth of these quakes is being ignored. They have been closer and closer to the surface. Starting at about 15 kilometers deep a few weeks ago to an average of 5 kilometers deep today. From 10 kilometers deep on 1/27 to 5 kilometers deep today:

Because the resistance to pressure decreases as with the amount of mass between the the magma and the earth's surface, it would be safe to project an eruption in a matter of days, or a few weeks. What remains to be seen is the nature of this eruption and whether or not it will be localized or Biblical in proportion.  Maybe something in between.

In the dream/vision that I had of the event, it seemed that the eruption was major, but not cataclysmic, An ash cone was built up that was 3-5 times larger than Mt. Saint Helens. What struck me the most is the amount of ash in the air and the effect it had on our climate in the US. Winter was extended into spring and massive amounts of precipitation dropped mammoth amounts of snow in the Rocky mountain states and rain elsewhere.

One thing I would definitely recommend is buying painters "masks" to filter out the ash and have enough food on hand for a few weeks. A water purifier and some bottled water would not be a bad idea. Your hot water heater can serve as an emergency source of water as well. Bleach can be used to kill bacteria in the water (a few drops, not the whole bottle).

A snow shovel to clear driveways and walking areas is also not a bad idea

With all of the shaking happening in California and all of these quakes in Yellowstone I am wondering what is about to happen in america? Around the world there have been a LOT of earthquakes...in the Pacific, in Indonesia, Malaysia, Caribbean (Haiti) in China (It is said but not confirmed) that China had a 8.6 quake a few days ago (in a more remote region of China), South America etc.It seems the whole world is about to be fucked in a moment if this keeps up.

I've followed yellowstone for a while since I live close and have family that lives even closer.  Stuff like this has happened before.  Back in the 80's they had a bigger string of quakes.  I know it's coming closer to it's time for going but for that timeline, it could still be hundreds, thousands of years away.  Or it could be tonight   I'm not going to worry about it, just drive like hell for no reason when it hits

I don't think anything like yellowstone going has happened in recent recorded history.  When it blows it'll be like a thousand Indian Ocean tsunamis.  A good portion of the US will be burried in dust/ash.  Almost all of Wyoming, Montana, and portions of surrounding states will be burried in 5 to 15 feet of ash or more.  This would be one of the mega desasters they fantasize about on the history channel and would kill mulitple millions.

Based on Katrina, my guess is other nations will offer help.  Hell, after 9/11 even Iran tried to support America which Bush/cheney blew to shit.  With this kind of disaster I'm sure the world would do what they can.  But as much as they can would not be enough.  This would cascade economicaly and in other ways to almost everyone.

You're going the way of straw and 3 with the argument on does anyone really own anything in america. Straw does not want to face certain realities despite overwhelming evidence showing that ownership in america is a farce. Nothing false being said, no contempt, no lies...it is just fact.

I don't know about you guys but life here in my state is great!  Sure I'm always concerned about big brother, etc...  To be honest though, I've never personally (or known anyone who has) had any trouble with abusive police, airport security, gun confiscation, etc....  Sure these things are a concern, but we're living better than any people in history.

America has never suffered a real calamity. Katrina was bad, but was small in comparison to a major earthquake. If and when the San Andreas fault should erupt majorly (I am talking earthquake from San Fransisco to Los Angeles of 9.0 or greater) then you sill see what calamity will bring you. Yellowstone Caldera blowing up will lay waste to every place in america. It will be like Krakatoa or Tambora blowing up...after these eruption even the land mass that these volcanoes sat upon were gone (BTW Krakatoa has become active again and has formed a major cone in the South Pacific again). The knowledge of the Yellowstone Caldera is foreign to most of you and the expectation of what will happen is even more strange. There will be no running around with guns or providing help or anything if things pans out as the geologist expect. The ash cloud alone will render most vehicles useless, planes useless,helicopters useless, oxygen useless, livestock killed, plant life dead, continuous raining of ash from coast to coast, water undrinkable, sewage systems destroyed from ash fallout etc etc etc...these things alone will be a nightmare

Haven't found a long term list of earthquakes in/of North America that shows earthquakes on a yearly basis so a comparison can be made...I am searching for that though. i may have to contact the USGS to see if such a list exists or can be compiled. Would be interesting to know if this is normal, increasing, decreasing, intensifying etc or some combination of many factors.
