Arnold Amateur - can't be bothered with bodybuilding

for Bikini, the top 10 of each of three height classes were ranked

for Fitness, all 18 over three classes were ranked

for Figure, the top 10 of six height classes were ranked

for both men and women's bodybuilding, only the top 5 of each of 10 weight classes were ranked.

when asked when the rest of the bodybuilding results will be posted, we're told that's it. many of the competitors are upset with this.  a few emails have been forwarded to me, and if I'm following them correctly, William Tierney claims "we only placed the top 5. All others are in sixth place."  While one of the judges, Shiloe Steinmetz, states that every contestant was scored.  Why can't they tabulate the complete results?

to look at it another way, 123 women were ranked, while only 35 men were.

Yes it sucks ass. My training partner was outside the top 5 out of something like 20+ competitors. You spend all this money, travel and time and only get a 10 minute predjudging and don't even get a placing.  

I think they just quickly picked the top 5 and didn't even bother looking at the rest.

They sure took the national fed fees and individual contestant fees. You'd think everyone at least got a little something out of it.

Here's the guy who took 4th in the amateur heavies.

Damn impressive for a 4th place finisher.

This conten'da is a friend of a friend  and the only amateur from a foreign country we wanted to get placement info on. Many of those who know him well thought that he'd win the overall amateur title and many others felt that he'd do much better than 4th in his wt class.. But those who were there said it was a good decision.

And all felt the  that overall amateur winner was most deserving.

Lately I've been more impressed by these amateur contenders than I have been with most of the pros, so I have to assume that I'm no longer seeing competitive bodybuilding as seen by the judging officials.

Any remarks by you guys/gals regarding great amateurs vs today's great pros would be interesting to hear. And appreciated.

I'll try to find a good photo of the overall amateur and post it here also.

I see your point but why not give placings just for the top 3 then? Or even just pick the winner?

I mean it would have been nice to know how far from getting into the finals he was, know what I mean? If everyone was scored like some judge said they might as well publish all the scores.

top 5 is sufficient for prejudging?    the other 15-20 in each class were dismissed after 10 minutes.

they had time to judge and rank 140 women (in my earlier calculation, I had missed the masters figure) but only 35 men.
