I have never said we shouldn't enforce out border policies Billy.  I think we should.  However the issue at hand is more complex than simply deporting the current illegal and undocumented workers.  Fact is right now we are not in a strong enough economic position to a) afford the decrease in revenue from the 50% who pay taxes, b) afford to detain and deport illegals, c) enforce our border to the utmost, d) people aren't earning enough to afford the cost of living increase on the goods and services provided cheaply by these workers.  Those are the cold hard facts Billy.  It does not make sense from a economic perspective and i don't believe it makes sense from a humanitarian perspective.  

Here is what i think should happen.  Amnesty for all those n the US without felony convictions, use the money from the extra tax income generated to help stop them from coming over.  Stricter enforcement on workplaces who hire illegals and a 3 year freeze on social services for newly minted illegals to citizens.

Oh yeah, because those bogus promises worked so well that last three times we tried it.

Also, living in NYC, I see the effects of this garbage far more than most.

Hey go right ahead 333 you think the government spending was bad prior to that, wait until you see the trillions it'll cost to enforce and do what you want.  Talk about civilian armies, Obama would have a huge job increase with all the new ICE recruits needed.  I thought you wanted smaller government?

1.  Being homew many of the troops and train them for immigration enforcement.
2.  ICE at the jails.
3.  ICE at the ER
4.  ICE in the school districts.
5.  ICE in the traffic court.  

you could have this problem solved withn 5 years or less.

They were and came here LEGALLY and left their countries to become AMERICANS.

Why not 333?  You do realize we were all immigrants at some time to this country don't you?  It's been shown economically what immigrants from Mexico bring to this country and it's far from a drain.  This is why no one has done anything but talk about kicking them out.  Republicans will talk tough to appease an uneasy and often racist set of voters.  They still realize as surely as anyone who does the math or reads the facts that our country is better off with them in our workforce than without.  If they were such a drain they would have been sent home long ago.  Cold hard facts remain that they aren't a drain at all and that our economy needs them as much as we need their labor.  It's win win unless you have something against hispanic people. 

I don't think people have problems with legal immigrants.  I certainly don't.  My parents are/were immigrants.  But my family did it the right way.   

The problem is with illegal immigration.  Wanting our country to enforce immigration laws has nothing to do with racism.

Amnesty is a terrible idea IMO.  We would be rewarding people for breaking the law.  It would be grossly unfair to all of the people who have been waiting in line to do it legally.
