Marshall to the Dolphins . . . Ginn to the Niners
« on: April 16, 2010, 11:02:23 AM »
I think this is great news for Davone Bess at Miami.  Also, I bet Ryan Grice-Mullins makes the Dolphins roster.

Good trade for the Niners.  Ginn should help the return game, and can help stretch the field for Crabtree, Gore, etc.

Dolphins trade Ginn to 49ers
ESPN.com

Fresh off their acquisition of Brandon Marshall, the Miami Dolphins on Friday traded wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. to the San Francisco 49ers.

The trade was first reported on the Twitter account of FoxSports.com's Jay Glazer.

The 49ers will send a fifth-round pick in this year's draft to Miami, a league source confirmed to ESPN.com's Mike Sando.

The three-day draft begins Thursday.

Hardly.  Nate was paid a ton of money to come in and be a lockdown corner.

Ginn was traded for a low round pick and will help in the return game.  I doubt he even starts at WR (but he will help).

Those were not his only good kickoff returns, just the two best ones.  He averaged 23 yards a kick return the past three years and had longs of 52 (07) and 41 (08).  He also returned a punt 87 yards for a TD as a rookie.  That will definitely help the Niner return game.

If you look at those two returns in the clip, he has shows ridiculous speed.

Truth. All had him listed as a 5-star corner going to OSU. I really don't understand why he isn't either unless he is really just that terrible at tackling, in which case, he still can't catch so maybe at least give him a shot. I don't know

It's probably too late to put him at corner?  Plus he doesn't have great hands.  I think he'll better playing in the slot.  He's sort of like Hester.

That is why i think he could move to corner but it could be too late. Ginn could possibly be a water down version of Desmond Howard, minus the Super Bowl MVP.  ;D

these dolphins fans down here hated ted ginn with a passion. My assessment on the guy after being down here for 3 years watching him is

1) he was drafted by a coach that knew him and his family growing up (dolphin fans wanted/needed a QB)..so he was forced on these fans down here

2) his concentration is terrible along with his hands..maybe it's because he put so much pressure on himself to live up to expectation, but he was terrible as a wr

3) he is a decent returner with straight line speed...he needs blockers ...he is not a shifty speed guy like Devon Hester.

I'd like to see him eventually do well. He took a savage beating down here in s.florida LMAO the fans MURDERED him to no end. It wasn't his fault he got drafted that high and sucks IMO.

This video below pretty much sums up everything about Ginn in Miami. LMAO. You don't draft a returner that high.....ever in life. LOL

I agree.  Terrible decision to draft him so high.  I think the pressure will be off in SF.

"Cameron first saw the speedster as a 13-year-old when, as Indiana's coach, he made a recruiting visit to Glenville High School in Cleveland where Ted Ginn Sr. coaches."

I know about Glenville High but Ted could never catch the damn ball.  I go to alot of Miami games and watching him was like watching paint dry.  >:( Henne puts it right in his hands and he still could not catch the ball.
