I know it's not that big of a deal, but my 17 year old son was with me. We were sitting in the Jack in the Box drivethrough (yep, eating junk)- I'm in my black Z06 and I see this black C4 pull into the Chevron station in front of me.
I saw him kind of stumble out of his Vette... my son makes this smart ass comment "he kind of looks like you"... I was like "fuck you" and so I pulled up alongside of him and I was gonna tell him how much I hate Vettes (being the smart ass that I am)-- and as soon as I stopped next to him, I was like "fuck me, a legend!"...
He has a very strong handshake. I remember seeing pics of him in a wheelchair after his stroke. He still looks great, and I know he's in his 70's. One can only hope...
He gave me his business card- I should have gotten a pic, but his card shows that he lives in the city right next to me. I'll probably pay the $$$$ just to train with him once or twice. I guess he trains out of Golds.
I'll get a pic then.
BTW, he has some shiny new C6 spokes on that 89 (for you Vette fans)
Cheesy story, but I was feeling pretty shitty when I woke up. Seeing him makes an old man like me (47) feel a lot better.
Peace, fuckers.
I'm gonna dig out my Pumping Iron vid.
