Those who care about Hip-hop, dude helped shape the early to mid 90's hip hop scene. He and others created a balance between the Bad Boy Records "playa", "money clothes ho's, that's all a brotha knows" mentality. Also his collabos with Jazz artists help bring a new generation into the Jazz fold, it was because of him that I knew who Donald Byrd was, and recognized "Wind Parade" from Donald Byrd when Black Moon smpled it.

To me, back in the day - it was Krs and Guru and thats it.   Yeah there were a few others, but Guru and KRS were the mecca of hip hop in the Bronx.
