Coach, you're saying that Al Gore isn't allowed to spend his money the way he sees fit?

Not quite the same.

Do you know that he won't be making it green?'

I know that Gore's current house is pretty green.

I think what The Coach is saying is that none of us want to hear about how big our carbon footprint is by a person who clearly does not care about his own.

Matt, he's not saying you can't have a large house... He's asking that you do what you can.

For instance, Gore will put in large solar panels and give energy back to the power grid... He's not saying turn your life upside down, he's saying that there are things you can do to reduce and he believes that's the right direction... So you can't say he doesn't care about his own carbon footprint... clearly you are lying about that.

You guys who want to hate stuff like that are far too angry over nothing...

I like cars, love them, so I buy cars I like and I don't drive a smart car or a Prius or anything, but so what... I turn my light off when I'm not in a room and I do other things to reduce my power usage... My life isn't upside down to reduce my carbon footprint.

Much ado about nothing.

Hmm, good point.  Al Gore can do things to reduce his own carbon footprint.

Ignoring the Solar panel comment huh?

Stick your head in the sand on that one if you want... You know I'm right.

He will put energy back into the grid, just like he's done on his previous house, but whatever dude.

The North American average carbon output is FOUR TIMES the global average.  Al Gore's is probably TEN TIMES the global average.  And this asshole feels he is in some position to preach to the rest of us about the myth of "man-made global warming"?  Honestly, he can fuck off!

no, the sad thing is, coach is right... gore is a hypocrit..  he definitely pollutes way way way more than he has to.

and actually your life will need to be flipped upside down.

humans have adopted an unstustainable lifestyle. there are three options: death of all humans, revert back to lifestyle with zero carbon emmissions except for bare essentials like police and fire, or a miracle of technology that allows energy production with no harm to the environment...

we can not choose death, so we only have two options. we can not simply choose to have a miracle advancement in technology.. so the obvious plan of action is to take a serrious and dramatic action to cut off all carbon emmissions world wide, and then hope that soon we can start gaining back some luxuries  once technology advances to that point where we could do so without hurting the environment..

If Gore powers his entire house with solar panels, then what exactly is his carbon foot print?

Understand that if he doesn't do this, then I'm absolutely going to call him out on this bullshit.

Its common knowledge that Al Gore makes money by investing in Green companies, so the more he preaches and the more green companies pop up and make more money, the more he makes. There is money to made in war, famine, misery, and green.

Shit, look at Russia. It is a corrupt lawless country that has billioniares popping up like zits on a teenager, but the whole of Russia is doing bad, like the complexion of said teenager. And like said teenager, he zits (billionaires) are there because of the lack of regulation and exploitation of the lack of regulation of oil, commodities, etc.

So what are you trying to say - I can live in a TEN BILLION DOLLAR mansion as long as within the framework/context of that mansion, I am reducing my emissions as much as possible?  ::)

Coach, you're saying that Al Gore isn't allowed to spend his money the way he sees fit?

Not quite the same.

Yeah, except when liberals want to raise taxes for social programs or whatever else - then a person no longer has the option of deciding for themselves where their money is to go.
