yes but not proportionately to other races...you would expect more whites on welfare than other races b/c well there are alot more whites in this country than other races...
there are only 10 million more whites on welfare than blacks but there are 180 million more whites than blacks in this country...does that seem right to you?

I've been arguing for years that welfare is a bad thing. My only point (here) is raw numbers aren't in harmony with the stereotype. Folks would rather believe some fat, black chick with 5 baby daddies is benefitting. I guess that bias makes ignoring welfare's effect on the people's spirits easier and even lets a few feel good about 'helping those po black folk who just don't know any better'.
