The EPA should be abolished.  Its an incompetent leviathon agency that is useless.

If this agency cant stop or regulate an oil spill (ALL WHILE WE HAVE REGULATORS AND OFFICIALS AT THE TIME), why should we entrust it with "climage change" or any other issue?

The answer is we shouldnt and should get rid of it along with DHS, BATF, et al.

And whose job will it be to regulate said products, drugs, education, arms, etc?

Education would be handled at the local level.ALL drugs should be legalised and NOT under the jurisdiction of the FDA.Perhaps just a safety commitee to make sure they arent tainted.Arms need no regulation thats why we have a second ammendment.

If oil companies can create spills that they can't stop then shouldn't we outlaw offshore drilling until they also have they develop that capability?

That's funny considering people like yourself have no problem allowing the government to create new programs and benefits they have no way of paying for yet have the ability to crash the economy.

As for you exact question, no, considering there is absolutely no way to prevent every single possible scenario.

a private company has been spilling oil into public waters for a month and they seem to have no way to stop it.

If oil companies should be allowed to take actions that can destroy public land and create a financial burden on the public and other private business owners then shouldn't we also allow private businesses to pollute our air and poison our water so that they can make a profit too.

The pursuit of private proift over rides the governments right to protect it's own land right?

You could say that,OR you could say how poorly regulation works in a highly regulated industry, which proves the government is totally incompetent to do anything.

I dont believe we have to shut down offshore drilling until we find a way to close it off.  We should look for ways to cap this and i'm sure we can find a way to do that.

We can live with some pollution, we cant live at $15 a gallon gas unless you are ok wth 40% UE.

Rand is another way to spell RETARD. He made a remark durign the  Maddow interview that Rachel was looking for a "GOTCHA" moment with him, well guess what Rand...every friggin moment with you has been a gotcha moment...

I am so glad THE YOUNG TURKS can at least see what is going on with this guy and hopefully those following Rand with BLIND LOYALTY will open their eyes to the FOOL he is. This guy is against the Civil Rights advancements, this guy is against the EPA having power over BP? add to all of this he thinks this catastrophe in the gulf is just "an accident". Thanks Rand hope the rest of the american public wakes up and is not suckered into voting on your DUMB ASS...
