Update: Yep, a slight miss, and a further sign that jobs improvement has stalled out.

Markets are still up over 2%.

Original post: Analysts were looking for 455,000 initial claims. This weekly number, which is volatile, has totally stalled out in terms of getting better in recent months, remaining stubbornly at 450K and above. Last week it was over 470K.

What do you mean?Chris Mathews said that it got 2.8 million people hired.Lets see,700billion for 2.8 million jobs.Im not good at math,perhaps you could tell me what each job cost us.Im sure it was well worth the price though.

By the way,isnt it amazing that 2.8 million jobs were created by the stimulus and UE is at 9.9%.Im also not sure how ,if you lose 4 million jobs since the stimulus was passed ,you can say it created 2.8 million jobs.Seems strange to me.

Most of the so called jobs they are claiming are :

1.  Temp jobs that were for a few weeks.
2.  Census Workers
3.  Jobs "saved" which is bs. 

The overall net effect of the Stim Bill is not one single permanent job that will last more than a year or so at best. 

This has been one of the most wasteful spending programs the govt has ever done, if not the biggest.
