You should see the trail that goes down to Kalaupapa (the Leper colony on Molokai). It is jsut like that and even worse in some spots. The trail is no way wider than 2 feet at some spot and straight down. And you ride a donkey or walk. I walked it everytime I went and I even recorded it because I had to show people how hard of a hike it was. There are no guard rails or anything. I don't know how the donkeys make it. Here is a photo of me meeting a tourist from Germany I think as I was just starting to walk down. The other photo is of the tour guide. he had leprosy and in 1955 or so he was taken off the school bus and put on a barge and shipped to Kalaupapa. He never seen his mom and dad or sister ever again. He said they would get as close as possible to the shore then cut the barge loose and let the waves bring in the barge filled with leper. If you ever go to Hawaii and see the most beautiful actual island scenery and the place known as the most isolated place on earth then you have to go to Kalaupapa. But hike it and don't be a pussy.
