Ok so Carwin lost...
« on: July 04, 2010, 10:49:06 PM »
But what will happen if dana allows a rematch !!!??!

Are we seeing shades of Shogun/Machida or Lesnar/Mir  ??? the outcome of both those rematches was pretty decisive...

I still say Brock is scared to shit of Carwin.

no doubt he's scared of carwin's hands. he knew after the first punch that he did not want to stand with him

Brock vs Velasquez is already set. If Carwin & Brock met again, I would give it to Brock. He would have less ring rust, more experience and he already knows he can take the best Carwin has...

Of course..  ::)  ::) why would the UFC give the inter rim champion (Carwin) a rematch for his belt when he almost killed the current champion , right ?... ;)

Brock vs Velesquez is a much better match up for a Brock loss to me than Carwin,  Carwin relies heavily on opponents to engage in the clinch to work his dirty boxing while Cain would rather stuff the shot and stay on the outside and throw jabs and hooks.  I think Cain has a much better shot at beating brock because of this,  I think he also has more in the tank persay than Carwin as far as conditioning goes.

He has to earn a rematch first. Now that his cardio has been exposed, losses will pile up and he will not be in position to challenge for the HW belt (Brock/Cain,JDS)

Cain wont be able to stop the take down, even Carwin a DivII wrestler ended up on the ground first round, albeit not very long but if a guy with Carwins size and wrestling background can't stop the take down, who can?

Since when? If the UFC has proven anything, it's that a fighter doesn't have to earn a title shot unless they're not marketable. It's how many PPVs you can sell, not whether you're a good fighter or not.

Carwin doesn't sell PPV's.

A big ass pasty white cracker with a crew cut taking on a little brown guy with "brown pride" tattooed across his chest = PPV sales! :D

Exactly. And that's why Carwin had to go 12-0 to earn a title shot while Cock Chestnar goes 1-1 and gets one. The UFC is cut from the same cloth as the WWE and that's why the HW division has turned into a spectacle where "champions" run like cowards and curl up in the fetal position. Freakshow status awarded!

This I agree with, was complete bullshit.. dana needs to pick a model for the UFC and stick with it..either run it like the WWE where if you're loud enough you can get a title shot or like a professional organization where you need to earn your title shot, not this back and forth bullshit..this guy is making the rules up as he goes..it's screwed up.

Apparently, whatever business model the UFC/Dana is using is working. Like it or not, people love the UFC. Brock was given a chance to fight, and until he loses agaisnt top ranked guys, who can really discredit him.

I dislike Brock, but damn, to take a beating like he did from Carwin, then to pull of a submission like that is impressive.

This may not be the MMA you guys are used to, but this is MMA today. Majority approve.
