WrestleMania XXVI premieres on NBC

Written: July 22, 2010

For the second consecutive year, NBC and World Wrestling Entertainment will bring the world’s biggest pop culture event to network television when WrestleMania XXVI: The World Television Premiere airs Saturday, Aug. 7 at 9 pm ET / 8 pm CT. The special will feature highlights from WrestleMania XXVI set to music from today’s hottest acts in one lightning-fast hour of family-friendly programming.

For one night only, NBC will be the one and only place, where television viewers can witness the grandeur and spectacle of the world-wide phenomenon that is WrestleMania. WWE Superstars such as John Cena, Triple H, Randy Orton, Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio and Edge entertained a sold-out crowd at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. While the University of Phoenix has hosted the Super Bowl, major college bowl games and high profile concerts, nothing compared to the magnitude of WrestleMania’s non-stop action and thrilling pyrotechnics. NBC will be presenting The Show of Shows in breathtaking high-definition.

The highlight of the NBC special will feature what turned out to be one of the greatest matches in WWE history. Undertaker and Shawn Michaels are two of the most prolific superstars in WWE history, for one of them, this match was his last. More than 72,000 fans were on their feet throughout the emotional rollercoaster of athleticism. The two immortals put on a performance that thrilled the audience and in the end, reduced grown men to tears.

WWE made history at the University of Phoenix Stadium, as WrestleMania XXVI became the highest grossing entertainment event ever held at the stadium. A total of 72,219 fans from all 50 states and 26 countries attended the event, outdrawing Super Bowl XLII (71,101 attendance) in the same building. WWE’s annual extravaganza was broadcast around the world on pay-per-view in more than 100 countries and 20 languages.

I actually saw this saturday night and I didn't think that taker & HBK would one-up their last years match at WM25, but not only did they one-up it, they knocked it out of the park. Good job on both competitors with some sick high spots during that great match.

Cena's the guy who would gladly do it.
They wouldn't have to worry about him fukking up the finish or trying to "pull anything" because of a poor ego, etc.

Agreed. Cena is a good company man and would be an excellent candidate for the job.
