There are several very good private brewers but key word is private. I used RBB gear back in the day until he was busted. He was an actual chemist and although he brewed in his garage it was some very high quality gear. The only other brand I would use is Sciroxx. I think they put out a good clean product and if I remember correctly their gear came back pretty clean and accurate in William Llwellyn's book. If anyone recommends Axio/Syntrop Id' say Sciroxx is easily as reputable.
