Diet sleep?

anybody else here get less sleep while on a diet?

i already have bad insomnia(read:extreme).....but i havent slept in the last almost 3 days now..........its 12:57 AM right now......i think i am just going to go to work early, finish my training in the morning, and try to beat myself to sleep

keep in mind, i am still in no way tired at all.....but i know it isnt healthy to be awake this long...

not looking for a cure or anything here....no Dr has been able to fix it fix i was born, so i dont expect getbig to

precontest i was sleeping like 4 hours a day...i just couldnt sleep..

I can get that when my carbs are too low, not enough energy to sleep even though i am really tired...
Sometimes it is SO BAD i have meltdown and need to go to the fridge for something to eat, bread+jam(sugar) or something like that, always puts me to sleep within an hour.

Increase your carbs a bit or have a small amount 15-30g carbs 1-2h before bed, that might help you sleep.

Stimulant use throughout the day can wreak havoc on your sleep patterns.
However, I know that Bench relies on them a bit for his job performance.

As far as improving sleep quality...
Try keeping your sleep area cool & dark.

You may also want to try melatonin.
I can provide you more details if you want them, but in a nutshell:
Melatonin is a naturally occurring hormone in our bodies that regulates circadian rhythmicity.
The gland that produces melatonin begins to calcify at puberty.
That calcification continues progressively as we age so that the older we grow, the less melatonin we have circulating in and acting on our system.

Supplementing with melatonin can help reestablish sleep patterns.
Some people may have to use a higher dose than others, and it may take up to a week of consistent use before noticeable results are attained.
IMO, it’s the most effective OTC sleep aid.
Some people claim it is as effective as some Rx’s they’ve used.

nothing work for mee ecepppt alcohol....ui voocked buffalo wings....and drank alot....i should get atleast 30 minutwes of sleep.

Trying to sleep while dieting is awful. 

I have tried everything imaginable...ZMA, melatonin, simply sleep (the stuff in Nyquil that knocks you out without the acetaminophen and other stuff) GABA, ect…

You know what works the best? A bowl of cereal or some ice cream…ya kills the diet I know but trying to function day to day without sleep isn’t a good option but I don’t know of another solution…

Chris Aceto wrote that this is normal while pre-contest dieting because your body thinks you are going through a food shortage and it wants you to wake up early and go hunting for food...or something along those lines.
