I think Arnolds movies were actually quite varied, he had good success with his comedies unlike Stallone. I think he would have done well doing a sports movie like sly did with Rocky playing a tough coach or something.
Seagal is in a league of his own with making the same movie, he's a cop or an ex something in most and the majority have 3 word titles too.
out for justice, hard to kill, marked for death, the glimmer man, fire down below,  etc etc
I think sly is more clever than arnold movie wise.

Arnold's movies are all the same basicly, just like steven seagal's and vanadamme's, but because of his social status and charisma he made the most money in all of hollywood history from movies alone. I mean he is a god afterall.

Sly in the other hand would've dropped in the steven seagal fail trap if he did the same shit in every movie, people wouldn't have cared for sly anymore. But Sly allways kept up with the times and was willing to take note of current policy's, thought processes, politics and everything. He is a movie genius and knows people and knows how to produce gold himself so he's a self taught man prety much.

I think people are realising that they can't make new movies anymore. Every topic in the book has been beaten to death and people want to go back few years when a movie came up and it was "new" and "special" so why not make an oldschool action film with cheesy one liners to take people back in time.

I cant fault sly or arnie for bad movies they made in the 80's and 90's.

they were getting paid $15-$20M per flick, stallone said he made bad decisions cause of the money offered to him , hollywood is so fickle, your hot one second then a loser the next like seagal.

Stallone had flops like Oscar, Stop or my mom will shoot but he got over $15M for each movie.

Eddie Murphy still gets $20M after strings of flops, thats not his problem, thats the studios.

I remember there was a show on ESPN called best damn sports show, a NFL player told stallone he owed him $7 for watching stop or my mom will shoot, stallone paid him and told the audience to line up and he would give them there money back..that was funny.

Good post, but i think most getbiggers would turn down 15M$ for a movie if they didn't like the script.  ::) ::)

hahahaha very true, I would'nt either hahaha.

Stallone knew that Judge dredd was going to flop when he read that script they offered him $20M to be attached to the movie, he just took it, he said the $20M was worth all the critics hammering him when the movie opened.

Over the Top, according to Keith, Stallone wanted all the cash upfront, i think $12M, which i assume bankrupted the producer (keith chime in if im wrong)

Cobra is a dumb movie, but the studio says "sly, want to do a real violent movie with no decent plot" will pay you $20M..

not to sure about arnies career, i knw he got a huge payday for T3, which sucked for the studio cause it sucked.
