A typical day in the life of a liberal
« on: August 24, 2010, 02:04:45 PM »
Wake up in a bed, eat food and put on clothes all provided by a free market system.

Spend the day using items all made possible by American intuition in the private sector

Spend day with the freedom to bitch and moan about conservatives because Americans fought and died to give them that right.

Spend day complaining about how government is not doing enough for them instead of getting out and making it themselves.

Spend the day talking about how they deserve this or that instead of realizing no one is entitled to anything.

Spend day and entire life relying on what they "deserve" from others .

Die broke

For those of you tired of the extremist views of both the ultra-conservatives and the ultra-liberals, this might be a good alternative party.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modern_Whig_Party  They are for "fiscal responsibility, strong national defense, and social progression."  Here is an article about them from today's Wall Street Journal:  http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703846604575447623205761174.html?mod=googlenews_wsj.

Not much of a following yet, but definitely better than the nut-case teabaggers who are just a new republican party and ultra-conservative.  ("De're mavericks, doncha know.")

A very interesting quote from their positions: "Government should refrain from legislating morality." You never hear the Democrats or the Republicans say that.
Overall I think they sound like libertarians with a focus on veteran affairs (naturally since most of them are veterans) and a strong emphasis on defense. Not a bad platform I think.

From that link, it will be interesting to see how they progress.
