It is a chorus of innocents, reciting an incantation.
The idea is really very simple the guilty party surrounds themselves with a shield of innocents (whose voices are always heard) and that by doing so karma or comeuppance call it what you will, cannot detect the signature of the guilty party through the throng of innocents chorusing the act.
that's about as black art as you can possibly get.
