Did Trump say exactly how he would make America affordable again? Not that I am worried about it because America has been affordable for me for as long as I can remember. It did not become noticeably more affordable under Trump and hasn't become noticeably less affordable since Biden took office around here. Guess I am just lucky or maybe I am fiscally conservative enough that constant rise and fall of the stock market doesn't seriously affect me.

Policies are nothing more than political talking points, a politician promises to the electorate, a promise that politician are not held to for a number of reasons. No one actually votes for policies except by distant extension. Folks vote for politicians who develop, review and implement policies... a sometimes extremely long process fraught with compromises and legal battles, etc.
