My buddy Jeff (Mayhem) was a wrestler on the Indy circuits, trying for a spot on the WWF, etc....good times.  I'll tell you one thing...these local guys would bust their ASS wrestling for the hell of it, for almost zero pay, for their 15 minutes of fame....these guys had heart.

Speaking of which...I remember talking with Mankind some years ago as a bunch of us from the BB circles and wrestling  happened to be at the same place...and someone asked hiom what the secret to getting hit in the head with a chair was....his answer was great...."There is no secret, you get hit in the head with a chair..!"  Very smart guy, I might add...

back in 90 or 91 the WWF came to town.  They let me ref a girls match.  at the end after i called the winner the loser grabbed me and threw into the ropes.  I remember he asking me before the the night started when I got introduced to her if I would be open to somweothing like that.  I shit yea that would be cool.  Hulk was in town for that one.  It was just after Brutus the Barber Beefcake had his serious accident.  He was supposed to be there but couldn't make it.  The Rock mom was co promoter with Lars Andersen.

Wonder if that is why Rock is down on Lars? Some business dealing with his mom most likely.  and I was always surprised that Beefcake ended up getting hurt so bad, since Hulks ass (which Beefcakes nose was firmly planted in) should have softened the fall...
