Yes and no. If you could get another few crossovers like Ahnold yes. Otherwise it would just be another homo erotic sport like wrestling.

"With thoes GH guts man, you can count me out"

no..simply because Bodybuilding (in either "Pre drug" or current state) is contest that celebrates "male vanity" and "male vanity" for the most part is associated with homosexuality and Homosexuality isn't accepted by the mainstream as much as we want to think other wise

btw, the above isn't my opinion- it's just the way it is, folks

Were you listeing in at my office?  I had that same conversation, verbatim, with a guy in my office the week before the Olympia.   The Olympia was pretty lucrative for me...I won the office pool for best prediction of the winning lineup.  I must have made $20!  That'll buy enough protein bars to keep me going for a week!   ;D

I just remember it being more popular mid 80s early 90s before it became more of a freak show

I'm not really answering your question but Arnold made bodybuilding OK with the general public.  It was a cool thing, like Disco; could get you laid.  Now, it's back to the freakshow it was before Arnold.  It's like the whole thing never happened.  Gone.

BB is boring. Yeah, some people think it's gay, ugly bodies etc..but it's boring as fuck and i think that's the biggest problem. You might get some people attending out of curiosity, but when the highlight of the night is a guy spreading his ass and doing handstands while posing to Pour Some Sugar On Me, the curiosity factor will wear off.

Its just the point that matters; people come here bash bb and rightfully so,its become a joke. but early on it was well known and most guys in there late 30s 40s remember it was more widely popular..

If a bodybuilder starts talking about reps, sets, protein, carbs etc in any interview, they ought to be sent to Siberia. Arnold made bodybuilding cool cause he spoke about normal things that anyone could relate to. Her never made himself out to be suffering and to be someone who wanted pity for working out.

As for the rest, am I right in saying that the IFBB used to ban moon poses and glitter thongs and that kind of thing in competition? Now, posing itself is gone. I mean, in what direction does the IFBB want the sport to head towards? Everything now is all so wrestlemania/gangsta thug that any sense of dignity or class seems to have gone.

Does the IFBB think about these kinds of things in their meetings?

Maybe what I'm saying is that you guys should understand that Arnold is an individual that you are not likely to see the likes of in your lifetimes.  You may someday brag to your grandchildren that you lived in the time of Arnold Schwarzenegger.  Don't laugh.

He chose his path to success but with his personality, he could have made Bic pens or toothpicks the most popular item on the entire planet.

Nope. Once the Genie was finally out of the bottle(steroids and the internet had a lot to do with having that information available  to anyone curious), there was NO HOPE for bodybuilding to ever go "Mainstream".
No matter how good the physiques might have looked your average person would not be interested in going in that direction.
Also all the appreciation for the hard work was gone.
Peolple just dimiss it as "ALL DRUGS".
