Westlie are the type of crappy boyband that would win Simon Cowell's X Factor. People who buy their records have no musical knowledge IMO. If they were that great they would've cracked America long ago, but like Take That, Boyzone, Blue and all the other shitty UK boybands they never will. All of the UK's most successful artists have managed to crack America i.e. Beatles, Stones, Queen, Zeppelin, Floyd, Leppard, Priest, Ozzy etc. The quality of all boybands' music leaves a lot to be desired. Also, for your information nzmusclemonster, Sir Cliff Richard has had the most UK hits of any British recording artist and even he managed to notch up a hit or two in the US.

No racism, but the UK music scene has been the best on the planet since about 1967.  Before that, it was the American negro who put out the music that caused the whole British isles to start a musical revolution.  Apparently, the british kids could relate more to the poor black folk without a future than american white teenagers.

With that said, all places put out shit music, and yes, success in America is a big reflection of how good a band/artist is in their genre.

I'm on an 80's heavy metal kick now, and Jesus, 99% of that music just fucking blows.  There's a reason why songs make it to the top and have longevity.  No one can name a savage garden song, but they used to rule the charts as well.
