Genetics versus, developement.
« on: October 26, 2010, 10:17:53 AM »
There`s a whole lot of shit being slung around here on genetics but why does everyone around here leave out developement.

How you ate and what you did while growing as a kid had just as much effect on the overall picture as your genetics, or how much you work out now.

The three may parts of your body are your bones, muscle, and metabolism. All this shit is entirely dependant on how you were raised and has a huge effected on the big picture.

We all know diet has a huge effect on bone structure(height) growth cycles are time and time again prooven to be influenced by diet.  Strenght as a kid by sport. And of course metabolism by what your parents feed you.

It's easy to see the final product, but hard to understand how it came to be.

Are there any seats left for your seminar, doctor?

I think it has more do, with it being easy to be proud of your work ethic, or your genetics, however it`s near impossible to take pride in the randomness of your childhood.

Circulatory system, pulmonary, nervous, digestion, renal, immune, neurological, etc.  All the stuff under the hood.  Endocrine system is pretty nifty and includes metabolic function.

In all seriousness, I reckon a lot of guys miss the forest for the trees.  They concentrate so much on muscle that they neglect to live well and look after themselves.  Whenever guys post their diets, for example, there's never a vegetable because they're too busy thinking about carb/fat/protein ratios, and vegetables aren't a particularly dense source of any of those so they must not be worth eating.

Serve your whole body, not just your musculoskeletal system.

You're right, I'm actually guilty of that.   :-[

Agreed I had a can of cream corn ontop of my usual meal. It makes everything go through so much better.

I donno I think muscle develope following large growth spurts has a large part of the end product. I mean everyones spurts are a different times. My brother is a fuck ton stronger than me, but a few inches short. The big difference my grandmother cooked for me, and my parents cooked for him, as he`s a few years older.  I`m bigger of course, fitter and got more brute force, but his functional strength is fucking sick.
He stopped growing at 14 I stopped at 16, my guess is that extra year was spent on height for me, and muscle for him.

It`s all growth curves and timing.
